Squishy Lamps

Have you ever heard of a squishy lamp? Probably not until now. This item gives you small soft lighting in a fun form. Safe and fun for kids (and adults)!

These lamps are made of silicone, so they are light and able to be squished. There are many different squishy lamps ranging from a slug, as shown in the photo, to a panda, with others in between. These are battery powered and usually come with their own charging cables. They vary in colors and brightness. For example, some only have a yellow or white light, and others have a rainbow of possible colors. Each one also can change modes by either a tap or a button.

The Slug

In the above picture, you can see a slug lamp. I purchased this item a few years ago as a gift for one of my sisters. It has an on and off switch on the bottom with a built-in 15 minute turn-off timer. So if you wanted a temporary nightlight by your bed, just put it in that mode, and it will automatically turn off at night. The best feature of the slug, in my opinion, is the eyeballs. To turn the light on and off, just knock those eyes against each other! If you want to change the brightness, hold the eyeballs together.

The Bear

This bear lamp was a gift to me by one of my sisters. It can change color modes by giving the bear a nice tap. Its first light mode is a soft white light, and the second mode is a bright white light. Tapping the bear again will have it morph between colors, and tapping once more will have it snap between colors. As a nice feature, this guy will stay whatever color you choose if you tap it again on that color. I like to tap it when it's yellow to make it look like Winnie the Pooh, but you could make it any color you like!

The Duck

This duck is not only funny to see lying down on its side, but it also has its own unique features. The duck has three brightness levels of a soft yellow light that change when you give it a tap like the bear. It also has a timer system built in if you wanted to have the light turn off after thirty minutes. The added bonus though is the feet. The duck easily becomes a phone stand by using the duck feet. Just plop the phone on the feet, lean it against the duck, and voila, you no longer need to hold your phone and watch your video at the same time!

The Panda

The panda is just as squishy as the rest. However, it is probably the simplest of the squishy lamps, but it makes up for that by its extra design. While the other lamps are very simple looking, this little guy has much more character. Like the others, it has the normal option to turn on and off, but the timer in it automatically turns off the light after one hour as opposed to fifteen or thirty minutes.

So...

There are many more of these squishy lamps, especially on Amazon. If you would like to look at other kinds or purchase one for yourself, I recommend either clicking one of the links above or going to Amazon and searching "squishy lamps."

All of these lamps are perfect gift ideas, but the hardest part is deciding whether to buy for yourself or to buy one as a gift. Regardless of what you decide, let me know what you think of the squishy lamps and what your favorite kind is in the comment section below. Thank you for reading!
